Information about the English Proficiency Exam (EPE)

Application announcements and all other information regarding the English Proficiency Exam (EPE) to be held by our university's School of Foreign Languages are announced on the web address https://epe.metu.edu.tr/.

The application dates for the Exam Periods are specified in the Academic Calendar (https://oidb.metu.edu.tr/en/academic-calendar).

Results can be seen on the following pages:

  • For active students: https://student.metu.edu.tr.
  • For METU students applying outside of METU or inactive students: Applications for the English Proficiency Exam (Program 238) can be found at https://application.metu.edu.tr. Academic (Institutes and Head of Departments) and administrative units can use METUSIS and follow the steps Authorized Processes> Lists> English Exam Score to see the exam scores.

 

NOTE: Exam result certificates are not provided to be submitted to any unit within METU. Those who want to obtain a document to be submitted outside METU can apply to the Registrar's Office.

  • Graduate program applicants who are METU students and students outside METU
  • Students under Article No. 35 (**)

11 JUNE 2025

  • Basic English Department Unit students who are entitled to take the exam within the framework of the regulations   (*)
  • For Transfer applicants outside METU (additional article 1, additional article 2, METU Transfer Directive)

29 JULY 2025

  • Basic English Department Unit students who are entitled to take the exam within the framework of the regulations (Summer school EPE) (*)

It will be announced later

  • Newly admitted students to undergraduate programs (*)

  • Unit of Basic English students who have the right to take the exam according to regulations (*)

  • Newly admitted international students to undergraduate programs (*)

  • Students under Article No. 35

  • Students who are enrolled by late registration to undergraduate programs  (*)

  • Graduate program applicants who are METU students and students outside METU
  • Students under Article No. 35 

 

The aim of taking the exam:
